The Alliance participated in the Marsh Mania event hosted by the Galveston Bay Foundation. The 21st event anniversary involved over 160 volunteers planting smooth cordgrass at intertidal restoration locations around Galveston Bay. The goal is to involve local citizens in hands-on wetlands restoration activities while increasing their awareness and appreciation of wetland habitats and functions.
The Gulf of Mexico Alliance (Alliance) and the Gulf of Mexico Coastal Ocean Observing System (GCOOS) renewed their regional collaboration. On April 4, the two Gulf-wide organizations formalized a memorandum of understanding (MOU) outlining the continuance of this long-standing partnership.
