The Gulf of Mexico Alliance (GOMA) is like a family! And, just like families across the U.S., we are finding new ways to meet and accomplish our objectives during these uncertain times. Although we aren’t able to gather at our traditional All Hands Meeting this year, we will gather virtually instead! GOMA’s role has not changed: we were designed from the very beginning to provide forums for regional collaboration, and we will continue to do so. We’re just using virtual tools to get it done.
Team projects that can be conducted remotely are still underway. Those that are affected by quarantine orders will resume as soon as possible. Our webinar series will continue to highlight the progress of GOMA teams and their projects. Our monthly newsletter will still provide updates on new tools, funding opportunities, and restoration progress. And, we will continue to listen, develop, and plan for Governors’ Action Plan IV as it is still on schedule for release in 2021.
Just because we’re canceling our annual All Hands Meeting, doesn’t mean we’re not active. There is much work to be done in support of our regional partners, and we are prepared to get it done! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me directly at
