A new project supported by our Wildlife and Fisheries Team is engaging volunteers to monitor and protect coastal bird nesting sites in Matagorda Bay, Texas. Our partners at Audubon Texas expanded staff capacity to monitor nesting sites used by pelicans, herons, cormorants, terns, black skimmers, and roseate spoonbills. During the fall and winter, the group will install signs to limit disturbance by people and remove debris.
