Wildlife & Fisheries Team

Wildlife & Fisheries Team

The Gulf of Mexico is home to over 15,000 species of marine and coastal wildlife and provides a third of the nation’s seafood.

The Gulf of Mexico Alliance Wildlife & Fisheries Team provides tools and information that supports wildlife management, commercial and recreational fisheries, and emerging areas of interest such as aquaculture. Actions are focused on assessing status and trends, threats, and needs of priority species and collaborating with other stakeholders to increase ecological resilience.

Learn more about the Team’s focus areas and actions in the Governors’ Action Plan for Healthy and Resilient Coasts.
