Working with our partners at the Florida Housing Coalition and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, we are connecting local governments with tools and resources to integrate affordable housing and hazard planning using the CHARM mapping tool.
Partners recently met with stakeholders from Bay County, Florida, to pin point building sites that are less likely to be impacted by disasters while still meeting community needs (think day cares and grocery stores).
This project will also include a guide to help communities plan with resilience in mind. This project is supported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration with funding provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
