Three NOAA Ocean Guardian School programs are well underway thanks to our Gulf Star partners! They are located at the Ecole Pointe-au-Chien French immersion school in Louisiana, Robertsdale High School in Alabama, and Abraham Lincoln Middle School in Texas.

Students at the Ecole Pointe-au-Chien Ocean Guardian School are planting cypress seedlings while learning how to protect their waters. At Robertsdale High School, students created a group called Planet Bear and are conducting waste audits, adding recycling options to the school. And students at Lincoln Middle School taught their fellow students about the 6 R’s (refuse, rethink, reduce, reuse, rot, & recycle).

Thanks to Louisiana Sea Grant, NOAA, and Weeks Bay NERR for leading the Ocean Guardian efforts, and to our Gulf Star partners Hess and Equinor. Visit our Gulf Star page to learn more about becoming a Gulf Star partner.
