The Florida Aquarium recently put marine debris in the spotlight with an art exhibit featuring work by students from the Robinson High School Marine Biology Club.
Twelve pieces of art were up from April 10th to May 25th. Within those 45 days, the Aquarium had an attendance of about 131,000 people.
Each piece of art included marine debris collected by the students during a beach cleanup event held in January. This Gulf Star project is sponsored by Motiva Enterprises and will continue through 2024.
